4 . 6 . 3 . 7 A l t i t u d e .  U s e item 5 of table VI, place the assembly in an
a l t i t u d e chamber and subject it to the altitude test specified in MIL-STD-810,
m e t h o d 500.1, procedure I, except that:
a. First, the assembly in a non-operating condition, shall be
e x p o s e d to an atmospheric pressure equivalent to 40000 feet above
s e a level for a period of not less than 1 hour.
b . Second, with the chamber presssure increased to an atmospheric
e q u i v a l e n t to 10000 feet above sea level, subject the assembly to
the performance tests of 4.6.2..
4.6.3.8 D u s t . Subject the assembly to the dust test specified in
MIL-STD-810, method 510.1, procedure I.  A t t h e c o n c l u s i o n o f t h i s t e s tr
s u b j e c t the assembly to the performance test- of 4.6.2.
4 . 6 . 3 . 9 S a l t f o g .  S u b j e c t the assembly to the corrosion test specified
i n MIL-STD-810, method 509.1, procedure I.  A t t h e c o n c l u s i o n o f t h i s t e s t ,
s u b j e c t the assembly to the performance tests of 4.6.2.
4 . 6 . 4 S e a l i n g .  P r e s s u r i z e the assembly with nitrogen to 5.0 + 0.1 psig
a n d perform either Sealing A or Sealing B leakage test.  A f t e r  determination
o f compliance with the sealing requirement, purge the assembly with dry
n i t r o g e n at 1 psig for not less than 5 minutes and lower the pressure to 0.0 +
0 . 2 - 0.0 psig.  N i t r o g e n shall be BB-N-411, t y p e I, class 1, grade B with a
d e w p o i n t not greater than -25F.
4 . 6 . 4 . 1 T e s t s e l e c t i o n .  A p p l i c a t i o n of Sealing A and Sealing B shall be
a s determined by the procurement conditions of 4.5.1 and the first article
c o n d i t i o n s of 4.4.
4 . 6 . 4 . 2 S e a l i n g A. Use item 1 of table VI and subject the assembly to
t h e leakage (immersion) test specified in MIL-STD-810, method 512.1, procedure
IV.  The  immersion  period  shall  be  not  less  than  5  minutes.
4 . 6 . 4 . 3 S e a l i n g B. Use item 1 of table VI, place the assembly in the
f o l l o w i n g environment for not less than 2 hours and verify that the pressure
d r o p is not greater than 0.2 psig.
