is furnished by the contractor that there are not similar defects. Such defects on all trailer(s) shall
be corrected by the contractor at no cost to the Government. The contractor shall correct defects
on all trailer(s) represented by the failed control test trailer(s). Another trailer(s) with corrective
action implemented shall be subjected to the control test.
4.6 Comparison test. The Government may select semitrailer(s) at any time to examinations
and test as specified in tables I through VII to determine conformance to contractual,
specification, performance, materials, welding, workmanship, and design requirements and to
compare the test results with previous standards. The tests shall be conducted at Government
proving grounds or other test site(s) designated by the Government. The semitrailer(s) shall be
tested with payloads as specified. The semitrailer(s) selected shall not include any semitrailer(s)
previously tested for conformance to 4.5 (control test).

2/ Speeds shall be up to and including values specified.
3/ Hard-surfaced road such as Perryman high speed paved.
4/ Off-road (level to slightly hilly) such as Perryman "2".
4.6.1 Test failure. Failure of any trailer(s) tested to comply with any of the requirements
specified in the contract or any major defects, of design, workmanship, welding, or material
nature occuring during or as a result of the test cycle, may be considered cause for refusal to
continue acceptance of trailer(s) by the Government until objective evidence has been provided by
the manufacturer that corrective action has been taken. Any defect found during or as a result of
the test shall be prima facie evidence that all trailer(s) are similarly defective unless evidence
satisfactory to the contracting officer is furnished by the contractor that they are not similarly
defective. Such trailer(s) shall be corrected by the contractor at no cost to the Government.
