4.3 First article inspection.
4.3.1 Submission. The contractor shall submit a first
article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for
evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2. The
first article sample shall consist of the following items in
sample quantities as indicated:

Slip ring assembly
4.3.2 Inspection to be performed. First article slip ring
assemblies shall be subjected to any or all of the examinations
and tests specified in Table I and to any or all requirements of
the applicable drawing.
4.3.3 Rejection. The first article quantity shall be
rejected upon failure of any slip ring assembly in the sample to
comply with any visual or dimensional characteristics or upon
failure to comply with the criteria for any test. The
Government reserves the right to terminate its inspection
whenever a slip ring assembly fails to comply with any visual or
dimensional characteristics or slip ring assembly fail to
comply with the criteria for any test.
4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Each slip ring
assembly submitted for acceptance under contract shall be
subjected to the acceptance inspections specified herein.
Failure of any slip ring assembly to conform to any acceptance
inspection requirement shall be cause for rejection of that
unit.
