6.
NOTES
6.1 Intended use. Material procured in accordance with this specifi-
cation is intended primarily for fabrication of parts which require fusion,
resistance, or flash welding and shall be capable of attaining a minimum
pressure of 190,000 psi, 0.2 percent offset yield strength after heat
treatment by oil quenching or Marquenching and tempering.
6.2
Ordering data.
Procurement documents should specify the following:
Title, number, and date of this specification
a.
Material form (bars or forgings)
b.
c.
Type and grade (of forging), or type of bar (1.2.1 and 1.2.2)
Composition and condition (1.2.3 and 1.2.4)
d.
Preproduction inspection (see 3.1)
e.
Lot size
f.
Place of delivery,
g.
Alternate marking, if permitted
h.
Forging process,if applicable
i.
Serial number (forgings only).

* 6.3 The margins of this specification are marked with asterisks to
indicate where changes (additions, modifications, corrections, deletions)
from the previous issue were made. This was done as a convenience only
and the Government assumes no liability whatsoever for any inaccuracies
of these notations, Bidders and contractors are cautioned to evaluate
the requirements of this document based on the entire content irrespec-
tive of the marginal notations and relationship to the last previous
issue.
