MIL-S-82529(OS)
4.6.2,2 Electrical continuity and circuit resistance test. Using the low
resistance measuring device specified in 4.4. la, measure the resistance of the
three switch circuits. The resistance shall be less than O. 10 ohm.
4,6.2,3 Functioning test.
4,6.2 .3.1 Temperature, nonfuction. Subject the switch to a tempera-
ture of 165 plus O minus 5 degrees F for a duration of not less than 24 hours.
Thereafter, the resistance of the three circuits shall be measured. The resis-
tance shall be less than O. 10 ohm.
4.6,2.3.2
Subject the switch to a temperature
of 80 plus or minus 15 degrees F for a minimum period of 2 hours just prior
to performing this test. Connect the low resistance measuring device specified
in 4.4. la to the switch leads as indicated in Figure 4. Immerse the switch into
the constant temperature oil bath assembly specified in 4.4. le through 4.4, lj.
The oil in the bath shall be maintained at a temperature of 240 plus 5 minus O
degrees F. The switch shall be suspended in such a manner that the oil surface
is as shown in Figure 5. Measure the time interval between switch immersion
and opening of all three normally closed circuits, as indicated by the low re-
sistance measuring device, using the calibrated timer specified in 4.4, lj. The
lime interval shall be less than 12 minutes.
4, 6.2. 3.3 Attitude, after functioning. Switches that have satisfactorily
passed the temperature functioning test of 4,6.2.3,2, shall be inclined at an
angle of 45 plus or minus 5 degrees (lead end down). Using the high tempera-
ture chamber specified in 4.4. lk, subject the switches to a temperature of 400
plus or minds 20 degrees F for 30 plus or minus 5 minutes, at which time the
switch circuits shall be tested for continuity, All circuits shall be open.
4. 6. 2,4 Visual examination. Visual examination shall be made on each
switch submitted for delivery to the procuring agency. The switch shall be ex-
amined for conformance to the requirements of good workmanship in 3,5. Non-
conformance shall be cause for rejection of the individual unit.
4.7 Preservation, packaging packing, and marking. The switch shall
be examined for conformance to the prescribed preservation, packaging, packing,
and marking requirements of Section 5,
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Preservation and packaging. Preservation and packaging shall be
Level A or C as specified. (See 6.2b and 6.4. )
