(d) During and after exposure of the survival kit container to dust
(e) During and after exposure of the survival kit container to humidity
(f} During and after exposure of the survival kit container to salt
atmosphere
(g) During and after exposure of the survival kit container to vibration
(h) After the survival kit container has been subjected to shock.
3.7.2 Hardware operation
3.7.2.1 Parachute descent. When the operating handle is activated by the
force specified in 3.6.10 while in the parachute descent mode, the hardware
of the survival kit container shall accomplish "the following actions:
(a)
Separate the survival kit container from the man
(b)
Open the lid locks
(c) Actuate the life raft by dropline deployment
(d) Couple the dropline to the parachute harness attaching hardware.
3.7.2.2 Emergency ground egress. When the force specified in 3.6,10 is applied
to the operating handle during emergency ground egress, the hardware of the
survival kit container shall accomplish the following actions:
(a)
Separate the survival kit container from the man
(b) Open the lid locks
3.7.2.3 Automatic operation. The parachute deployment sensing cable device
between the survival kit container actuator and the canopy riser shall operate
and separate from the automatic actuator with a maximum force of 50 pounds,
measured at the canopy riser, applied in any direction. The automatic actuator
shall be operated by the parachute deployment sensing cable assembly, The
parachute deployment sensing cable assembly shall release the actuator firing
pin to fire the cartridge when the parachute canopy risers are deployed from the
pack. The hardware of the survival kit container shall operate 4 seconds (plus
or minus 1 second) after the automatic actuator has fired the cartridge. It
shall not be possible to install the right side attachment hardware if the
actuator has not been reset after an operation. The parachute deployment.
