MILITARY SPECIFICATION
SECOND ORDER ATTITUDE REFERENCE SYSTEM (SOARS)

1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope - The equipment conforming with this specification shall provide
a compensated all attitude reference system for pitch, roll, and heading angular
displacements utilizing dynamic second order erection with velocity reference
and all the performance requirements described herein.
1.2 Classification - The equipment of this specification shall consist of

1.3 Associated Equipment - This equipment shall operate with the associated

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 General - The following documents of the issue in effect on the date of
invitation for bids form a part of this specification to the extent specified
herein. When there is a conflict between referenced documents and this specifi-
cation, this specification will take precedence.
COMMENTS OR RECCOMMENDATIONS WHICH MAY BE OF USE IN IMPROVING THIS DOCUMENT MAY
BE SENT TO THE PREPARING ACTIVITY WHEN A SELF-ADDRESSED STANDARDIZATION DOCUMENT
IMPROVEMENT PROPOSAL (DD FORM 1426) APPEARS AT THE END CF THIS DOCUMENT, OR BY
LETTER ADDRESSED TO THE COGNIZANT ACTIVITY.
