6.
NOTES
6.1 Intended use.  The test set covered by this specification is intended
to be used as a portable field instrument for checking the performance
characteristics of aircraft tachometer indicators and generators.
Representative types of equipment which will be checked by the test set are
covered by MIL-G-5413, MIL-G-9398, MIL-I-5573, MIL-I-6470, MIL-I-8401, and
MIL-I-6329.
6.2 Ordering data.
Acquisition documents should specify the following:
Level of packaging and packing desired.
First article requirements (see 3.1 and 4.3)

Selection of applicable levels of preservation and packaging, and
packing.
(1) Level B preservation and packing
is intended to provide economical but limited protection, and
should be specified only when it is determined the test set will be held in
covered storage approximately 6 months from date of initial packaging.
6,3 Storage surveillance.
Items preserved and packaged in accordance with
level B requirements must be inspected to determine condition when not used
within the time period indicated.
Items not used within the time period
specified must either be represerved or repackaged in accordance with level B
requirements in this specification or with level A requirements if storage
6.4 Definition.
6.4.1 Percent RPM.  One hundred percent rpm is equivalent to an output
speed of 4200 revolutions per minute.
