Set up equipment as shown in Figure 1 and repeat steps
g. through 1.
4.7.3.4 RF O U T .
a.
Set up equipment as shown in Figure 1, with the power
meter (items 6 and 8, Table 111) connected to the
W/G-to-Type N adapter (item 13, Table 111).  Set the
channel selector (item 18, Table 111) to Channel 1.
b.
Using Table V as a guide, adjust the variable waveguide
attenuator (Item 16, Table XII) for a +10 DBM input
signal to the noise tester, using the power meter (items
6 and 8, Table 111) as an indicator.
c.
Connect the pOwer meter (items 7 and
9, Table III) to
the RF OUT port of the noise tester.
d.
Set RF
LEVEL
control to fully clockwise position.
e.
Read level on power meter (items 7 and 9, Table 111) at
RF OUT port.  Signal level shall be -9 + 2 DBM.
Set RF LEVEL control to fUlly Counterclockwise position.
f.
Read level on power meter (items 7 and 9, Table III) at
9"
RF OUT port.  Signal level shall be at least 12 DB down
from the level noted in step 4.7.3.4.5.
h.
Repeat steps d. through g. for Channels 6, 7 and 12 of
the microwave power source (item 18, Table 111).
i.
Disconnect power meter (items 7 and 9, Table III) from
RF OUT port and connect spectrum analyzer (Item 31,
Table III) in its place, through cable W202.
Set the microwave power source (item 18, Table III]
j.
channel selector to Channel 1.
k.
Using Table V as a guide, adjust the variable waveguide
attenuator (Item 16, Table 111) for +10 DBM input signal
to the noise tester, as indicated on the power meter.
1.
Set noise tester controls as follows:
(1) MODE switch to INTL TEST.
(2) OPER/TEST switch to BAND 2 OPERATE.
(3) Adjust REF LEVEL control to verify that the
reference oscillator FM sideband level is
adjustable between 27 and 33 DB below the carrier
as indicated on spectrum analyzer (item 31, Table
III) .
