BAND 2 AND 3 EQUATION:
For use with base band spectrum
analyzer (item 30) and frequency selective voltmeter [item 29) where
FN . = FC and  reference sideboard  level = .36 DBO
DBCN = DBVN - DBVC - 10 log BW - 36 +
2.
where:
DBCN = Level of noise below the carrier at Fc.
DBVN = Level of noise at FC below 1 volt.
DBVC = Level of calibration signal below 1 volt.
Bw
= Bandwidth of measuring device in Hz.
DBF = Filter attenuation characteristic ( in DB ) at FC.
ff.
Using the data computed for column 6 of each Data
Table, calculate the measured Integrated noise power
(in DB below the carrier) for each band-under-test
(DBCX ) using the following formula:
where :
DBCI = Integrated Noise Power (in DB) relative to the carrier
in the measured band.
DBCNi = Level of tge Noise (in DB) in a 1 Hertz bandwidth
relattve to the carrier at frequency FNi
= Frequency away from the carrier where the noise was
FN
measured.
1 + 1 = Next frequency above FNi where the noise was measured.
s
= Total number of measured frequencies.
= (DBCNi - DBCNi+l) / .(10 log FN
`i
1+1)
