TEST METHOD NO. 6
DRIFT
1.
TEST COURSE:
Level, flat surface.
2.
TEST APPARATUS:
a. Temperature thermocouple and potentiometer or equivalent
temperature measuring device.
b. Linear measurement equipment.
3.
TEST PROCEDURE:
a. Install the thermocouple in the volumetric center of the
hydraulic-system oil reservoir. Heat the hydraulic oil by
exercising hydraulic functions until the oil temperature
exceeds 120 F. Maintain oil temperature above 120 F for the
duration of the test.
b. Raise rated load to 24 inches above ground with forks in true
horizontal position measured. Mark reference point.
c. Hold the load for 10 minutes and record the boom cylinder and
hydraulic tilt cylinder retraction or travel.
