84 db(A).
3.5.6.1 Portable control. In addition to the controls and gages attached to the fixed control
panel, a portable control station, that shall be capable of being detached from the fixed station and

withstanding any mode of operation without collapsing or distorting. The ends shall be rounded
to prevent damage to the hose when it comes into contact. The reel shall be capable of holding
305 m (1,000 feet) of 25 mm (one inch) inside diameter (id) high pressure plastic hose. The reel
shall be power driven in both directions. The reel shall be equipped with a manual means of
emergency operation. The reel shall be designed so that it will not be necessary for the operator to
guide the hose on or off. All drive chains, sprockets, and like items shall be provided with guards
where necessary for the safety of the operator.
3.5.7.1 Hose. Not less than 185 m (six hundred feet) of 25 mm (one inch) id heavy duty
plastic hose, shall be furnished and installed on the reel. The hose working pressure shall be not
less than the maximum output pressure of the water pump. The hose shall be one-piece. The
cover of the hose shall be resistant to the scuffing, acids and greases normally encountered during
the cleaning of a sewer line. The hose and fittings shall be capable of withstanding a minimum of
13340 Newtons (N) (3,000 pounds) tensile load without damage. The length of the hose shall not
change more than one percent as a result of changes in internal pressure in the range of 0 kPa
(0 psi) to 17 790 kPa (2,000 psi) at the inlet end of the hose. The end of the hose shall be
provided with a fitting to accept lead hoses, nozzle and cleaning gun assemblies specified in
3.5.7.2 and 3.5.7.4.
3.5.7.2 Nozzles. Stainless steel or hardened carbon steel cleaning nozzles shall be
furnished. A 15 to 18 degree radial nozzle and a 30 to 35 degree radial nozzle shall be provided.
