6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The vehicles covered by this specification are intended for general
nontactical use by the Government in transporting personnel or cargo, or for the mounting of
special bodies or equipment.
6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
(a)
Title, number, and date of this specification.

(b)
Issue of DODISS to be cited in the solicitation and if required, the specific issue of
individual documents referenced (see 2.1.1 and 2.2).
(c)
Identification of appropriate military service for painting (see 3.1.1.1).

(d)
Identification of appropriate military service for marking (see 3.1.1.2).
(e)
Concealed markings, if required (see 3.1.1.2).
(f)
Rustproofing, if required (see 3.1.1.3).
(g)
Tropical rustproofing, if required (see 3.1.1.3).
(h)
Wood treatment, if required (see 3.1.1.5).
(i)
Air transportability, if required (see 3.1.1.8).
(j)
Lifting and tiedown attachments, if required (see 3.1.1.9).
(k)
Blackout curtains, if required (see 3.1.1.10).
(l)
Silicone brake fluid, if required (see 3.1.1.12).
(m)
Specified wheelbase for body model furnished, if required (see 3.2.7).
