MILITARY SPECIFICATION
TRUCK, MOBILE BLOOD DONOR AND COMPONENT LABORATORY, TILT CAB:
DIESEL OR GASOLINE ENGINE DRIVEN, 24,000 POUNDS GVW,
4x2, COMMERCIAL
This specification is approved for use by US Army Tank-Automotive Command,
Department of the Army, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies
of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers a completely self-contained, mobile, self-propelled
unit, designed to serve as a combination mobile blood component processing laboratory and
three-bed donor facility. The vehicle shall be diesel or gasoline engine driven, four-wheel,
two rear wheel drive, having minimum gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 24,000 pounds and shall
be equipped with a tilt cab, a 30 kilowatt (kW) auxiliary generator and a 4 kW auxiliary
generator. The body shall be fully air conditioned and heated. Vehicles procured under this
specification are commercial items which shall be warranted by the manufacturer as specified in
procurement documents.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 Government documents.
2.1.1 Specifications, standards, and handbooks. Unless otherwise specified, the
following specifications, standards, and handbooks of the issues listed in that issue of the
Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the
solicitation form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein.
Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may
