shall be capable of adjustment without binding or interference. The fan blower heaters shall be
securely mounted, shall be free of gaps, exposed electrical wiring, and exposed insulation. The
fan blower shall be capable of operating without malfunction, vibration or undue noise.
3.7.11 Plumbing installation. The installed plumbing system (appliances, fixtures,
devices and associated equipment) shall be capable of functioning satisfactorily without water
leaks, excessive vibration or undue noise. All plumbing equipment shall be securely mounted
and shall show no evidence of damage (scratches, dents, chipping). All drainage plumbing shall
be installed in a manner to prevent leakage caused by improperly assembled components.
3.7.12 Laminated surface of counters and desks. The counter and desk laminated
surfaces (Formica) shall be securely installed, properly fitted, alined and level with the floor
surface. Laminated surfaces shall be free of delamination, scratches, mars, uneven surfaces,
rough edges, chipping and color fade. Counters, cabinets and desks shall be of rugged
construction, properly alined and installed without any evidence of damage or deformation.
Desk and cabinet drawers shall be fitted to provide ease of operation without binding,
interference or excessive side movement during opening and closing.
3.7.13 Lounge seat and chairs. The built-in lounge seat with backrest and storage
compartment under the lift-up seat shall be of sturdy construction and securely installed. The
lounge seat and storage compartment surfaces shall be fitted and alined to provide blended
surfaces and ease of operation of the lift-up seat. The catered chair and pedestal stool
(with backrest) shall be of sturdy construction providing even contract with the floor.
3.7.14 Upholstery and padding. Removable fitted pads covering donor beds and all
upholstery shall be of durable material and securely installed. Upholstery shall meet the
flammability requirements of FMVSS 302. The material shall be free of rips, tears, splits, color
fade or stains and installed with a uniform fit. The upholstery and cover color shall be
coordinated with the applicable area. Padding shall be of force distribution, breathable material
and shall provide a comfortable, safe condition free of bumps, bulges or uneven surfaces.
3.7.15 Handrail installation. The safety handrail shall be securely mounted and shall be
of rigid construction. The handrail surface shall be smooth, free of burrs, snags, scratches or
rough areas.
3.7.16 Sound system installation. The sound system's three ceiling mounted speakers
shall be securely mounted and fitted, free of gaps, openings, exposed wiring or exposed
