manufacturer shall indicate on the questionnaire (commercial vehicle
engineering data) if the vehicle will be suppressed to limit
electromagnetic radiation in accordance with SAE J551.
*
4.4.6 Functional tests.  After completion of the road test, the
following functional tests shall be conducted.
*
4.4.6.1 Electrical system test.  To determine conformance to 3.5.5
through 3,5.5.3, the electrical system shall be subjected to a
functional test.  The satisfactory performance of the electrical system
shall be verified, with the air conditioners operating, and then all
lighting and electrical equipment shall be operated.  The lighting shall
be observed during the phase-in operation of the air conditioners, to
verify that the lighting does not fade and the air conditioning units
perform satisfactorily.  The power and electric circuits shall be
verified to assure that the power load is in accordance with the
specified requirements and actual loads imposed.
*
4.4.6.2 Air conditioning test.  To determine conformance to 3.5.6,

he air conditioning system shall be subjected to a functional test.
The air conditioning/vehicle body combination shall be tested under
actual or simulated conditions at least as stringent as the specified

used.  Performance of the air conditioning system shall be verified to
determine that the system is capable of maintaining the inside of the
vehicle body to an evenly circulated cooling temperature of 72F maximum
in 95F outside ambient temperature.  Inside temperature may be
calculated either with the number of occupants required or with the use
of simulated heat for sensible cooling.
*
4.4.6.3 Heating test.  To determine conformance to 3.5.7, the
vehicle body heating system shall be subjected to a functional test.
The electric fan blower heaters and vehicle body shall be tested under
actual or simulated conditions at least as stringent as the specified
requirements.  Simulated conditions must be acceptable to the
Government.  Performance of the heating system shall be verified to
determine that the heating system is capable of maintaining the inside
body temperature at a minimum of 70F midway between the floor and
ceiling in OF outside ambient with no occupants.
.$.
4.4.6.4 Air conditioning test data.  Results of the air
conditioning and heating tests performed in accordance with 4.4.6.2 and
4.4.6.3 shall be recorded.  Test data including a description of all
applicable pertinent test conditions shall be recorded and furnished to
the Government representative.  If the vehicle manufacturer has
