3.2.2 Air pollution control. The vehicle shall comply with EPA Regulations governing
Control of Air Pollution from New Motor Vehicles and New Motor Vehicle Engines in effect on
the date of manufacture. In addition, vehicles destined for California shall comply with State of
California regulations governing air pollution control in effect on the date of manufacture.
*  3.2.3 Sound level. The cab interior sound level shall not exceed 84 db(A) when measured in
accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation 393.94. The vehicle exterior sound
level shall conform to Environmental Protection Agency Noise Emission Standards for
Transportation Equipment, Medium and Heavy Trucks.
3.2.4 Curb weight. The curb weight shall include the weight of the chassis and cab, with all
attachments, accessories, and equipment; the body; and a full complement of fuel, lubricants and
coolant. The curb weight on the front axle shall be adequate to produce the wrecker lift-tow load
as specified herein. A chassis exceeding the minimums specified herein (axle, suspension and tire
capacities; engine size; cab type; hood projection; cab and hood materials; chassis source
selection; and any other functional, weight-adding options) shall be furnished as needed to enable
the wrecker to comply with the lift-tow load specified.
*  3.2.5 Gross vehicle weight and gross axle weight ratings. The gross vehicle weight (GVW)
and the gross axle weight ratings (GAWR) of the axles, springs and tires shall be not less than that
specified in table V for the corresponding vehicle class. In addition, the rear GAWR shall be at
least equal to the load imposed on the rear axle, measured at the ground, with the wrecker lifting
and towing the required lift-tow load capacity as specified in table X or XII, sub-item (b).
