MILITARY SPECIFICATION
TRUCKS, MAINTENANCE: WITH 9 TO 37 METERS (30 TO 120 FOOT)
MULTI-POSITION AERIAL PLATFORM, MODIFIED COMMERCIAL
This specification is approved for use by all departments and agencies of the
Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers diesel and gasoline engine driven, four-wheel,
two-rear-wheel drive; four-wheel, four-wheel drive; and six-wheel, four-wheel-drive trucks
having minimum gross vehicle weights (GVW) of 6800 kilograms (kg) (15,000) to 22 700 kg
(50,000 pounds), equipped with maintenance bodies and 9 to 37 meters (m) (30 to 120 foot)
multi-position, articulating, boom type aerial platforms. Vehicles procured under this
specification are commercial items which are warranted by the manufacturer as specified in
acquisition documents.
1.2 Classification. The vehicle shall be one of the types, classes and sizes shown in table I,
as specified (see 6.2):
