wound with not less than 13 mm (0.5 inch) diameter insulated rope, consisting of braided
polyester fibers with a braided nylon cover. The rope shall be of a length to reach the ground at

provided with a mast support and a quadrant. The mast shall be of fiberglass and shall meet the
requirements of 3.6.3. An insulated auxiliary cross arm, a pivoting cross arm clamp, a brace, and
three wire holders shall be provided.
3.6.5 Aerial basket(s). The total load capacity of the aerial basket(s) shall be not less than
227 kg (500 pounds) for two-man capacity and 136 kg (300 pounds) for one-man capacity.
Strength of material of the basket(s) shall be as specified in 3.6.
*  3.6.5.1 Fiberglass basket(s). A one-man basket shall be furnished for sizes 30 and 35, type I
and type II. Unless otherwise specified (see 3.6.5.2), a single, two-man fiberglass basket shall be
furnished on type I vehicles, size 35 and larger. Two individual one-man baskets shall be
furnished for all type II vehicles. The basket(s) shall be enclosed on four sides and the bottom.
The basket(s) shall have a molded-in or bonded-on step, protruding to the outside, located to aid
entrance and exit of the operator. The basket minimum interior dimensions shall be as specified
in table XIV. Minimum interior dimensions shall be measured at the bottom of the basket(s) just
above the bottom radii. Non-rectangular baskets may be furnished provided the total usable
floor area is equivalent to that of a rectangular basket with the minimum dimensions specified in
table XIV.
