3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Material. Material shall be in accordance with applicable
drawings, specifications and standards.
3.2 Parts and subassemblies. All parts and subassemblies shall
comply with applicable drawings, specifications and standards.
3.3 Assembly. The assembly shall comply with all requirements
specified on Drawing 905D490, all associated drawings, and with all
requirements specified in applicable specifications.
3.4 Interchangeability. All parts having the same part number
shall be completely interchangeable with each other and with like
parts of other manufacturers with respect to installation and
performance. Parts joined together by welding, brazing, or riveting
shall be interchangeable as assemblies. Interchangeability shall be
in accordance with MIL-STD-454, Requirement 7. Testing shall be in
accordance with 4.4.7.
3.5 Design and construction.
3.5.1 Input characteristics. The motor line voltage shall be
28 volts direct current (Vdc) per MIL-STD-704.
3.5.2 output characteristics. The motor output characteristics
shall be per torque-speed curve defined on drawing 905D490 unless
otherwise specified by the contract.
3.5.3 Duty cycle. The motor duty cycle shall be intermittent
consisting 15 seconds on and 45 seconds off repeated 10 times
maximum with rated load and terminal voltage of 28 Vdc followed by
cooling off period of 15 minutes between runs.
3.5.4 Motor enclosure. The motor shall be totally enclosed.
3.5.5 Connector bracket. The connector bracket assembly shall
be able to a withstand force of 500 pounds (lbs) maximum in the
directions ath the centerline of the connector without visible
distortion as noted on drawing 905D490.
3.6 Performance characteristics. The motor shall be capable of
meeting the requirements of MIL-M-8609 except as modified by drawing
905D490.
3.6.1 Horseposer. The motor shall provide 2.85 horsepower as
specified on drawing 605D490, Note 1.
3.6.2 Torque. The motor shall provide the torque specified on
drawing 905D490, Notes 11 and 12.
