3.6.4 Proof test (first article inspection only). Electric
Drive Motors shall operate when assembled to an accepted Universal
Turret Subsystem (UTS).
3.6.3 Direction of rotation. The direction of motor output
rotation shall be counterclockwise as viewed from the spine end of
the motor.
3.7 Environmental  requirements. The motor shall perform as
specified in 3.5 and 3.6 after exposure to the environments
specified herein.
3.7.1 Temperature. The operating temperature of the motor
shall be from -65F to 125F and the non-operating temperature
shall be from -650F to +160F.
3.7.2 Altitude. The operating altitude of the motor shall be
from sea level to 50,000 feet.
3.7.3 Temperature - Altitude combination. The motor shall meet
the requirements of MIL-E-5400 paragraph 3.2.24.3.
3.7.4 Humidity. The motor shall withstand the effects of
humidity up to 100 percent, including conditions wherein
condensation takes place in and on the motor. the motor shall
withstand the above conditions during operating and non-operating
conditions.
3.7.5 Vibration. The motor shall meet the requirements of
MIL-E-5400 paragraph 3.2.24.5.1.3 except as modified by drawing.
3.7.6 Shock. The motor shall meet the equirements of
MIL-E-5400 paragraph 3.2.24.6.
3.7.7 Sand and dust. The motor shall withstand, in both an
operating and non-operating condition, exposure to sand and dust
particles as encountered in areas of the world.
3.7.8 Fungus. The motor shall withstand, in both an operating
and non-operating condition, exposure to fungus growth as
encountered in tropical climates.
3.7.9 Salt fog. The motor shall withstand in both an operating
and non-operating condition, exposure to salt-sea atmospheres.
3.8 First article inspection. This specification contains
technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for
the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be
as specified in the contract and 4.4.
