4.5.4 Testing. Testing is described in the first article and
quality conformance inspection tables.
4.5.4.1 Spare Parts. Spare parts furnished with an inspection
lot of motors will be accepted, provided motors of the lot are
accepted after all inspections and tests. In case of a failure of
any motor in any acceptance inspection and tests, associated spare
parts from the lot associated with the defective motor shall be
accepted only after screening by the contractor for the revealed
defect and resubmission for inspection as directed by the Government
4.5.4.2 Replacement Motors. Each lot of replacement motors
will ordinarily be accepted on the basis of the inspections and
tests of this specification: however, the Government inspector may,
if he deems necessary, submit a representative sample of replacement
motors for the inspections and tests of this specification.
4.5.5 Inspection Equipment. The inspection equipment required
to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described
in the Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method Column in Table
4.5.3.1. The contractor shall submit for approval all inspection
equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See
MIL-W-63150 and 6.3 herein.
4.5.6 Proof test (first article inspection only). When
specified in the contract (see 6.2) three (3) Electric Drive Motors
-shall be forwarded to the site specified by the contracting agency
and assembled to an accepted Universal Turret Subsystem (UTS). The
Electric Drive Motor shall function in accordance to the intent of
the design and with no evidence of malfunction. When approved by
the contracting agency, this test may be performed at the aircraft
system level.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Preservation, packaging, packing, and marking. Controls
shall be preserved, packaged, packed and marked in accordance with
the requirements of the Preservation and Packaging Data for Drawing
P 905D490 at the level of production specified in the contract (See
6.2).
