MILITARY SPECIFICATION
TANKS, AIRCRAFT PROPULSION FLUID SYSTEM,
INTERNAL, REMOVABLE, NON-SELF-SEALING
This specification is approved for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers internal removable, non-self-sealing,
propulsion fluid system tanks, including tank fittings, for use on aircraft.
1.2 Classification. The tanks shall be of the following general types, as
specified (see 6.2):
- Metallic.
Type I
- Nonmetallic, flexible cell construction.
Type II
Class A - Continuously supported.
Class B - Continuously supported tear resistant.
Class C - Intermittently supported.
Type III - Nonmetallic, self-supporting cell construction.
