MIL-T-81527B(AS)
each computer being assigned to a given side of the chamber. The com-
puters shall be attached to the plenum by normal mounting points, and shall
receive cooling air distributed through ports in the side of the plenum.
Maximum dimensions of the Computer Support Structure shall be 17 inches
by 17 inches by 21-1/2 inches, with plenum covers installed. The weight
of the Computer Support Structure including plenum covers shall not exceed
60 pounds.
3.4.1.6.5.2.2.3 Performance.
The Computer Support Structure shall
deliver to the computers a minimum of 1.25 pounds per minute of air at a
pressure of 5 inches of water.
3.4.1.6.5.2.2.4 Primary Input Power Requirements.
The Computer Sup -
port Structure Primary Input Power Requirements shall be 3 -phase, 103.5
to 126. 5-Vac, 380 to 420-Hz, 50-VA per phase.
3.4.1.6.5.2.2.5 Contents.
The Computer Support Structure shall contain
the following elements with indicated characteristics,
(a) Air Filter - The Air Filter shall be oil-treated and reusable. The
Filter shall have a ventilation area of 32 square inches.
(b) Blower - The Blower shall be a vaneaxial fan with an integral,
3-phase, 4-wire, 1 15/200 V, 400-Hz motor.
The Blower shall deliver air
into the plenum per performance (see section 3.4.1.6.5.2.2. 3).
(c) Sensing Element - A differential pressure switch shall mount to
the plenum chamber. It shall be of the diaphragm type and shall sense static
pressure differential between the air plenum and outside ambient air. The
switch shall activate when the air pressure decreases to 5.5O; -0.00, +0.25
inches of water.
The output of the sensing circuit shall be electrically con-
nected to the CMPTR AIR indicator, in series with a similar Sensing Ele-
ment installed in the plenum chamber of the blower assembly.
.
(d) Plenum Covers - Three removable plenum covers, one for each
computer unit, shall be provided for the three plenum surfaces.
These
covers shall block the computer cooling air ports in the absence of a com-
puter in order to prevent the loss of cooling air pressure.
