3.4.2.7.1 Antenna Support Fixture.
The Antenna Support Fixture shall physically sup-

3.4.2.7.1.2 Form Factor.
The Antenna Support Fixture shall be designed
for deck mounting either by bolting or welding. TWO vertical side members
shall extend upwards from a 22- 1/4 inches by 24-5/8 inches rectangular
base to position the antenna support which shall be composed of a rotating
cradle and a mounting plate. A cradle, 39-3/4 inches above the deck, shall
provide the fixture upon which a mounting plate rests. The mounting plate,
in the horizontal position, shall hold the AN/APG-59 Antenna Base Assem-
bly which shall be bolted to its surface. The mounting plate shall be
capable of 360 degree azimuthal rotation and shall permit locking securely
in any desired position.
The cradle shall be capable of being tilted 90
degrees from the horizontal plane by use of a hand wheel and gear reducer.
An aluminum guard rail, pivoted from an axis 14-1/2 inches above the
mounting plate, shall encircle the antenna and shall act as a safety device
to prevent accidental contact with the antenna when it is operated in a
scanning mode.
The guard rail shall be capable of being stowed out of the
way in vertical position when the antenna is not scanning, An expendable oil
pan shall be mounted below the cradle and between the vertical support
members to retain hydraulic fluid leakage from the antenna connections.
An interlock shall prevent antenna electrical operation any time the an-
tenna cradle is rotated from its horizontal plane positions
