MIL-T-81809(AS)
TP1(+) and TP2(-) on the platform assembly.  Slowly decrease the input voltage from
7.0 volts d-c until lamp DS4 goes out.  Lamp DS4 shall go out when the voltage across
lamp DS3 is 6.6
volts d-c.
4.4.9.5 Motor Speed - With the batteries removed from the test set and a d-c
voltage applied between T-P1(+) and TP2(-), so that the voltage measured across lamp
DS3 is 6.42 0.1 volts d-c, the illuminator assembly shall travel 16 to 18 complete
cycles in 60.0 seconds.
4.4.9.6 Luminance Output - Remove the batteries from the test set and apply a
d-c voltage between TP1(+) and TP2(-) so that the voltage measured across lamp DS3
is
volts d-c.  Mount the test set on Test Fixture SA-A-1793J or SA-A-19608.
Allow) 15 minutes for measuring equipment to warm-up.  Calibrate the spot brightness
meter with SL-40 lens against the brightness source and mount the spot brightness
meter on the test fixture with the center line of the spot brightness meter
0.010 inche  above center line of the test set lens.  Adjust the focus ring of the
spot brightness meter for optimum indication on the meter.  The spot brightness
meter reading shall be a minimum of 500 foot-lamberts.
4.5 Classification of Characteristics - The characteristics verified by the
tests and examinations herein are classified as Critical, Major, or Minor in accor-
dance with WR-43.  Tests and examinations that verify critical characteristics are
identified by the symbol (C) and major characteristics by the symbol (M). The num-
ber following the classification symbol indicates the serial number of the test or
examination.  Tests and examinations which are not annotated with a classification
code are classified minor.
4.6 Test Equipment and Provisions -
4.6.1 Test Equipment - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase
order, provision test equipment, including any necessary design, shall be the
responsibility of the supplier.  The special equipment necessary for testing the
Test Set,Guided Weapon AN/DSM-77B is as follows:
(a) Optical Alignment Test Fixture SA-A-17931 or SA-A-19608.
(b) Photo Research Corporation Spectra Brightness Spot Meter, Model
SD 1/2, Code 190S-SB (or equivalent) with SL-40 supplementary lens
and AR-50 lens holder.
(c) Photo Research Corporation Spectra Power Supply, 115-volt, 60 cps,
for SB Spot Meters (or equivalent).
(d) Photo Research Corporation Spectra Regulated Brightness Source,
100 foot lamberts, 100-130 volts, 60 Hz (or equivalent).
4.6.2 Test Equipment Accuracies - Unless otherwise specified herein, the test
equipment shall have accuracies equal to or better than the following:
(a) Voltage measurements - within 0.5 percent
(b) Time measurements - within 0.1 second/minute
