MIL-T-85396A(AS)
3.5.1.2 Electronics assembly.  The electronics assembly shall contain the
radiate and receive antennas, command signal generation subsystem, DPSK
subsystem, detector subsystem, 12 volt battery pack, battery test and self
test subsystem and the control and indicator subsystem.
3.5.1.2.1 Frequent y (command subsystem).
Stepped over a range of Foc
-2.25MHz or lower to Foc +2.25MHz or higher. Foc is a frequency which will be
specified in the contract (see 6.2.1).
3.5.1.2.1.1 Sweep characteristics.  When in the Phase I and Phase II mode,
3 seconds.
the total sweep period shall be
3.5.1.2.1.2 Modulation.  The carrier shall be modulated by 2300 20 Hz, 5400
50 Hz, and 10500  00 Hz sine wave signals in the tone modulation mode. In
the DPSK mode the carrier shall be phase modulated in a digital format and
include a weapon recognition code.
3.5.1.2.1.3 Carrier deviation.  The peak-to-peak carrier deviation shall be
15 to 45 KHz for the 2300 H z frequency, 25 to 75 KHz for the 5400 Hz
frequency, and 50 to 125 KHz for the 10500 Hz frequency in the Foc 2.25 MHz
band.
3.5.1.2.1.4 Radiated power.
Radiated power shall be -40 8 dbm.
3.5.1.2.1.5 Full sweep capability.  When in the Phase I and Phase II mode the
sweep shall complete its excursion across the Foc 2.25 MHz band when S1 and
$2 are released while the frequency is within this band, and shall not repeat
until either S1 or S2 is again depressed.
3.5.1.2.2 Detector subsystem.  When S1 is depressed, the electronics assembly
shall detect and indicate the presence of an unmodulated or frequency modu-
lated RF signal as specified in 3.5.1.2.2.1 through 3.5.1.2.2.4.
3.5.1.2.2.1 Frequency (detector subsystem).  Any (and all) frequency(ies) in
a band of Fov
Hz shall be detected.  Fov is at a frequency which will be
specified in the contract.
3.5.1.2.2.2 Power level (detector subsystem).  The power level shall be -1 to
+10 dBm applied directly to the detector input at P1.
3.5.1.2.2.3 Sensitivity adjustment (detector subsystem). Adjustment of
variable resistor, R6, shall provide a threshold sensitivity adjustment over a
minimum range of -1 to +3 dBm when the signal is applied directly to the input
of the detector at P1.
3.5.1.2.2.4 Detection indication (detector subsystem). An Indication that
the electronics assembly has detected a signal, as specified in 3.5.1.2.2
through 3.5.1.2.2.3, shall be provided by indicator lamp, DS-1. The lamp
shall start flashing within 5 seconds after application of the RF signal and
shall continue with a period of 1 (+1, -.5) second with a duty cycle of 10 to
25 percent.
