MILITARY SPECIFICATION
VALVES; AIRCRAFT, HYDRAULIC THERMAL
EXPANSION RELIEF
This specification was approved by the Department
of the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force for use of
procurement services of the respective Depertments.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope. -  The specification establishes the requirements folr hydraulic thermal
expansion relief valves of the types and classes specified herein.
Classification. -
1.2
Types. - Hydraulic thermal expansion relief valves shall be of the following
1.2.1
types:
Single -In accordance with Drawing AN6245
Dual - in accordance with Standard MS28016
Hydraulic thermal expansion relief valves shall be of the follow-
1.2.2  Classes.-
ing classes:
Class A - Pressure Range 1,000 to 2,100 psi (cracking pressure)
Class B - Pressure Range 2,100 to 4,100 psi (cracking pressure)
Class AB - Pressure Range 1,000 to L,4,000 psi (cracking pressure)
3.2.3  Size. - Hydraulic thermal expansion relief valves shall be furnished in the
sizes indicated the applicable AN drawing or MS standard, as specified.
APPLICABLE SPECIFICATION, OTHER PUBLICATION, AND DRAWNINGS

2.1  The following publications, of the issue in effect on date of invitation for
bids, shall form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein:
