MIL-V-62008B(AT)
4.5.1.4 Fuel system slope check. To determine conformance to 3.4.4, the vehicle shall
be placed on specified grades and slopes, and engine operated and observed for functional
requirements.
4.5.1.5 Fuel and hydraulic line check.
4.5.1.5.1 Fuel line check. To determine conformance to 3.4.4.2, the fuel system shall be
pressurized with filtered air at a pressure of 3 to 4 psi prior to engine installation and checked for
leaks at the fittings and fuel tank seals by applying soapy water or equivalent. The system shall
be evacuated until a vacuum of 30 inches of water is attained.
4.5.1.5.2 Hydraulic system check. To determine conformance to 3.4.4.2, the hydraulic
system shall be wiped clean and dry, system operated, and the lines and fittings checked for
droplets (see 6.5).
4.5.1.6 Heater fuel feed check. To determine conformance to 3.4.4.4 with pressure
inspection equipment installed at the heater, and all pumps operating as specified, fuel pressure
at the personnel heaters shall be as specified.
4.5.1.7 Control checks. To determine conformance to 3.4.6, all controls shall be
operated, adjusted, and checked for functional requirements.
4.5.1.8 Adjustment mechanism check. To determine conformance to 3.4.7, all
adjustment mechanisms shall be checked for proper adjustment.
4.5.1.9 Driver's hatch and escape hatch check. To determine conformance to 3.4.7.1,
force inspection equipment shall be attached to the driver hatch when it is in the closed position.
The hatch shall be pulled to open position and back to closed position. The force shall be as
specified. With the hatch in a closed position, the force required to lock the driver hatch cover
shall be measured by inspection equipment at the end of the locking lever and shall be as
specified. The driver escape hatch shall be checked by attaching force inspection equipment to
the handle at point specified, releasing the hatch, and noting the force required. Caution shall be
exercised in making the escape batch check by assuring that the area under the hatch is free of
personnel and equipment before releasing the handle.
4.5.1.10 Loader and commander hatch check. To determine conformance to 3.4.8.5,
attach a force gage to the locking latch and measure the force required to unlock the latch.
Measure force required to push each hatch to its extreme open latch position. Close hatch and
measure the downward force required to pull the hatch into a locking position and the rotational
force required to lock the hatch.
4.5.1.11 Battery door check. To determine conformance to 3.4.7.2, force inspection
equipment shall be attached to the battery door latch and the force required to open the latch
shall not exceed that specified.
