4.5.1.12 Seating check. To determine conformance to 3.4.8 through 3.4.8.4, all seat
levers shall be operated and the seats checked throughout their entire functional range. The force
required to operate each lever shall be measured with inspection equipment and shall not exceed
that specified.
4.5.1.13 Light checks. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.1 and 3.4.9.2, all lights shall
be operated during and after the break-in run throughout all stages of operation, and checked for
functional requirements.
4.5.1.14 Generator voltage check. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.7, the generator
voltage shall be checked for functional requirements.
4.5.1.15 Generator blower motor check. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.8 and
engine running at idle, the generator blower motor shall be operated and checked for constant
flow of air.
4.5.1.16 Passive driver's night viewer power circuit check. To determine conformance to
3.4.9.9 with the master battery control and passive power switches turned on and vehicle
generator supplying specified voltage, (see 3.4.9.7), the voltage output of the passive power pack
shall be measured at the loose harness plug using an 80 megaohm load.
4.5.1.17 Slip ring and external communication circuit check. To determine conformance
3.4.9.4 and 3.4.9.15, the slip ring and external communication circuits shall be checked at all
points required to assure continuity.
4.5.1.18 Auxiliary outlets. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.5, the OVE trouble light
or suitable voltmeter shall be attached to the auxiliary outlets and checked for operation. The
light or suitable voltmeter shall be removed and each circuit overloaded to check circuit breaker
operation.
4.5.1.19 Searchlight control system check.
4.5.1.19.1 Vehicle and searchlight interface. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.6.1, the
searchlight control circuits at the external connector shall be checked by inserting appropriate
switching leads and jumper cables at control points. Certified fixtures shall be utilized to verify
that mounting attachments for gun mount and control boxes have been installed to applicable
drawings.
4.5.1.19.2 Searchlight installed. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.6.2, verify that the
main gun has been balanced per 3.6.12.2 and align the gun on 600 meter or equivalent target.
Elevate the gun 5 mils and perform the following:
a. With the main control box switch at "local" and beam switch at "compact",
actuate the searchlight power switch to "visible" and verify that the
searchlight beam can be centered on target.
b. Verify "spread beam" and "passive beam" functions.
