MIL-V-62347(AT)
3.6.12.7.3 Pressurization. The accumulator shall be pressurized to the required precharge
using nitrogen gas specified by MIL-P-27401, type I, grades A, B, or C, or BB-B-411, type I,
grades A or B. The accumulator nitrogen precharge shall be 1000 psi + 100 psi (at 72F, with
zero hydraulic pressure on the system). The azimuth and elevation drive systems shall be
supplied with regulated hydraulic pressure within the range of 1400 to 1500 psi. A manual
hydraulic pump shall be provided for the manual backup mode, as specified in 3.6.16.
3.6.12.8 Safety interrupt and override.
3.6.12.8.1 Safety interrupt erected launcher. Safety interlocks shall be provided to protect
crew and equipment when operating the weapon station and firing the TOW missile. An
override capability shall be provided which will permit target tracking and missile firing in the
event of operational necessity. The interrupt conditions and resulting functions which shall be
allowed are summarized in table I, together with override provisions indicated. The first
interrupt azimuth/elevation zones shall be as shown in table II. If the gunner's hatch is open, the
erection drive is inhibited from erect to load and may not be overridden, and the azimuth and
elevation drive action is inhibited but may be overridden.
3.6.12.8.2 Stowed launcher. The erection drive system shall not be inhibited when the
launcher is in the stow position. The first interrupt override shall be inhibited in the stow
position.
3.6.12.8.3 Load positioned launcher. The erection drive system shall not be inhibited
when the launcher is in the load position. The fire interrupt override shall be inhibited in the
load position.
