Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMIC).  The equipment shall
comply with MIL-STD-461, with the following changes and additions.
Requirements CE03, CE04, CS01, CS02, CS06, RE02, RS02, and RS03 shall apply,
except the field intensity level requirement of RS03 is changed to:
20 volts/meter from 14 KHz to 200 MHz
65 volts/meter from 200 MHz to 450 MHz
20 volts/meter from 450 MHz to 1.0 GHz
100 volts/meter from 1.0 GHz to 12.0 GHz
2 volts/meter from 12.0 GHz to 40.0 GHz*
*Except that 100 volts/meter at 16.5 GHz and 33.0 GHz
Transient Susceptibility.  No degradation of performance shall occur when
the system's interconnecting and signal leads are bundled throughout their
entire length with a wire carrying a 600 volt peak-to-peak relay switching
transient.
Spike Emission.  Spikes (transients of duration less than 500 microseconds)
generated by the equipment shall not exceed the following values when measured
from the base of the transient:
dc power lines: 50 percent or -150 percent of the normal dc line
a.
voltage.
rms voltage
b. ac power lines: +50% of the norms
Other lines:  limits shall be spec ified in the approved EMC
c.
qualification test procedure.
Ground Plane Considerations.  All interface circuits shall be capable of
specified performance when subjected to the following aircraft chassis noise
existing between any two WRAs:
a.
3 volts rms from 320 Hz to 500 Hz
b. 1 volt rms from 10 Hz to 100 MHz
8 volts, 100 usec pulses at a repetition rate between 100 Hz and
c.
200 Hz
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineering Evaluation. An EMC
engineering test and evaluation shall be performed and substituted for the
MIL-STD-461, Paragraph 4.2 requirements for an interference control plan
preparation and submittal.
