MIL-V-82466(OS)
3.2.6 Gages.  The contractor shall provide himself with whatever gages
are necessary and adequate to ensure that the material to which this
specification applies will meet the dimensional requirements shown on
the applicable drawings.  If so stipulated in the contract, order, or
requisition, the Government will furnish drawings of pertinent Navy Final
Inspection Gages for guidance in the design of the contractor's inspection
gages.  However, such procedure shall not serve to relieve the ocntractor
of his responsibility in the design and manufacture of such gages as may
be required for the satisfactory fulfillment of the contract requirements,
but is intended to facilitate acceptance of all components and assemblies
by Navy Final Inspection Gages.
3.2.7 Threads.  Unless otherwise specified, all threads shall be in
accordance with National Bureau of Standards Handbook H28.  The class or
fit for threads shall be as specified on the applicable drawings.
3.2.8 Conflicting requirements.  Conflicting requirements arising
between this specification or any specifications, publications, or draw-
ings listed herein shall be referred in writing to the procuring agency
or appointed agent for interpretation, clarification, and resolution
(or correction).
3.3 Performance requirements and product characteristics. The VAND
System shall meet the following performance requirements and product
characteristics:
3.3.1 Pressure.  The equipment shall be capable of supplying air,
from a source of 800 pounds per square inch, at pressures ranging from
O to 750 pounds per square inch, when tested as in 4.5.4.1.
3.3.2 Vacuum.  The equipment shall be capable of evacuating the air
to obtain a vacuum of 25 inches of mercury, when tested as in 4.5.4.3.
4.3.3 Nitrogen.  The equipment shall be capable of replacing the
evacuated air with nitrogen as required in the applicable weapons
Ordnance Pamphlets.  (See 4.5.4.4.) The source of nitrogen shall not
exceed 50 to 400 pounds per square inch.
3.4 Environment requirements
3.4.1 Vibration
3.4.1.1 Operating and nonoperating.  The Vacuum-Air-Nitrogen Distribu-
tion System, mounted rigidly on a vibration testing device in a manner to
simulate its service installation, shall be capable of withstanding vibra-
tions of frequency varying between 10 and 33 cycles per second (cps) with
a total excusion of 0.06 plus or minus 0.006 inch, between 10 and 55 cps
with a total excursion of 0.03 plus or minus 0.006 inch, and at the four
most severe resonant frequencies (see 4.4.1).  Thereafter, the system
shall meet all performance requirements and product characteristics of
this specification.
