REQUIREMENTS

3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2.1), the contractor shall fur-
nish sample unit(s) for first article inspection and approval (see 4.4 and
6.4).
3.1.1 First article sample. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or
purchase order (see 6.2.1), a first article sample of the charging valve shall
be delivered to the testing activity designated in the contract or purchase
order (see 6.2.1). The first article sample shall be manufactured using the
same methods, materials, processes, and procedures proposed for production.
Any production prior to acceptance of the first article sample is at the con-
tractor's risk.
