4.4.2 In-process inspection.
4.4.2.1 Surface inspection.  Examination of surface preparation prior to
welding shall be made to determine compliance with 3.10.1.  Examination of
surface preparation, pretreatment and priming prior to each succeeding phase,
and top coating shall be made to determine compliance with MIL-T-704 .
Whenever nonconformance is noted, correction shall be made to the applicable
process and all affected items shall be brought into compliance. Parts which
cannot be corrected shall be removed from production.
4.4.2.3 Moisture and fungus treatment l  Examination of treatment
shall be made to determinecompliance With 3.5.2.5. Whenever
nonconformance is noted correction shall be made to the applicable process
and all affected items shall be brought into compliance. Parts which cannot
be corrected shall be removed fron production.
4.4.3 End item visual examination. The end items shall be examined for
the defects listed in table 1.  The lot size shall be expressed in units of
washing machines .  The sample unit shall be one washing machine. The
inspection level shall be 11 and the acceptable quality level (AQL),
expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5 for major
defects and 6.5 for total (major and minor combined) defects.
