Utilizing a customer-approved centrifuge device, warheads shall be
subjected to an axial acceleration force of 11+2 gravities (g's)
for a period of at least 3 seconds. Centrifuge power shall then br
turned off and the centrifuge arm shall be slowed to slow down at
a natural rate to a full stop. If the round does not function, it
shall be considered acceptable and the round again subjected to an
axial acceleration force of 31 ± 2G's for a period Of at least 1.5
Centrifuge shall then be turned off, and the centrifuge
arm shall be allowed to slow down at a natural rate. Warheads shall
fire when acceleration decreased to 15G's or less. Warhead firing
(flechette expulsion) shall verify the firing requirements estab-
lished in paragraph 3.4 of this specification.
4.4.2 Leak Test (see 126.96.36.199 ).-The warheads selected for
this test shall be subjected to a leak test. The loaded warhead,
when subjected to a pressure differential of ten PSI at room
temperature shall not leak at a rate exceeding 1 x 10-4 cc/see
for 10 seconds minimum after stabilization.
