be incorporated to provide GO/NO-GO Indications of equipment readiness
automatically on the WRA front panel.  These features shall be such as
to energize a fault indicator (3.3.6.7.2.2) when equipment performance
falls below a specified level.  The DCU and CIU shall supply commands and
other signals necessary to control and synchronize the operation of BITE
functions in other subsystems, where appropriate. The circuits and devices
which provide BITE functions shall be designed in such a manner that failure
of the BITE circuitry shall not cause damage to any associated equipment or
ground support equipment or cause unintentional operation of the associated
equipment which would cause a hazardous condition.
3.3.6.8 Fail Safe Operation.  The circuits and devices which provide
BIT functions shall be designed in such a manner that to the extent possible,
failure of the BIT circuitry will not cause a failure of the equipment with
which it is associated.
3.3.6.9 Time-to-Repair.  The m~tlme-to-repair (MTTR) a malfunctioned
WRA at the organizational level to a specified performance level of operation
shall not exceed 30 minutes with no more than 10 percent of the repair times
exceeding 60 minutes.  These MTTR specifications shall not, however, include
failures due to combat damage and shall be independent of administrative and
logistic delay times.  The maximum MTTR shall not exceed 2 hours.
3.3.6.10 Automatic Test Equipment COmp atibility.  Maintenance provisions
of the l quipment shall include compatibility with approved Fleet automatic test
equipment.  Requirements for special test equipment, tools and handling
equipment shall be minimized.  The use of Peculiar Ground Support Equipment
(PGSE) to ensure ATE compatibility is permitted.  The PGSE may include card
extenders and adaptive circuits (Interconnecting devices) and may use existing
test connectors.
3.3.6.11 Organizational (on-equipment) Maintenance.  Organizational
maintenance shall be performed on the equipment while installed in the
aircraft and including all preventive and corrective maintenance in
accordance with the ARBS Maintenance Plan, AVMP-184.
3.3.6.11.1 Memo ry Loader/Verifier (MLV).  A memory loader/verifier will
be used at the organizational level for loading/dumping the WDC operational
flight program (OFP), and for verifying proper WDC operation. The MLV may
also be used for loading special test programs for organizational
level maintenance.
3.3.6.11.2 Scheduled Maintenance.  Scheduled maintenance shall conform
to the ARBS Maintenance Plan, AVMP-184.
3.3.6.11.3 Unscheduled Maintenance.  Unscheduled maintenance consists
of all corrective action resulting from observed system/component malfunctions
or from defects discovered during scheduled maintenance/inspections.
