"(a) The five sample units shall be selected from the 125
sample units required for major defect 101 (Functional test)".

Add paragraph 4.5.2.1 as follows:
"4.5.2.1
Penetration test.
Five grenades, from 4.5.2,
shall be functioned with PA526 detonators on a single piece of
rolled homogeneous armor (RHA) plate.
The RHA plate shall
conform to the requirements of MIL-A-12560, Class I, and shall
be of such a thickness to contain the expected maximum
penetration of the grenade.
The depth of the penetration
shall be measured without cutting the plate. The average of
the five
penetration readings shall meet the specified
penetration
depth
in
the
classified
annex
to
this
specification.
The classified
annex may be obtained by
requesting it from:
Commander, U.S. Army Armament Research,
Development, and Engineering Center, Attn:
AMSTA-AR-QAC-S,
Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000."
The margins of this amendment are marked with vertical lines to
indicate where changes to the previous amendment were made. This
was done as a convenience only, and the Government assumes no
liability whatsoever for any inaccuracies in these notations.
Bidders and contractors are cautioned to evaluate the require-
ments of this document based on the entire content irrespective
of the marginal notations and relationship to the last previous
amendment.
