6.3 Samples. For access to samples and the mine required for
the fit examination in 4.4.4 address the contracting activity
issuing the invitation for bids.
6.4 First article. When a first article is required, it shall
be inspected and approved under the appropriate provisions of FAR
52.209. The first article should be a preproduction sample
consisting of one completed bandoleer. The contracting officer
should include specific instructions in all acquisition documents
regarding arrangements for inspection and approval of the first
article.
6.5 Die, eyelet, score settinq. Sources of supply for the
score setting eyelet die specified in 3.4.4 are, J.C. Rhodes and
Company, Box B-962, New Bedford, MA 01745 and Stimpson Co., Bayport,
NY 117050
6.6 Nylon cloth cut edqes. The cut edges of the nylon cloth
are subject to fraying during the process of handling the cut parts
during fabrication of the bandoleer. It has been found that fusing
of the cut edges of the cloth will prevent fraying.
6.7 Recycled material. It is encouraged that recycled material _
be used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of the
document (see 3.3).
6.8 Distribution of ammuntion data cards, inspection and test
results, process controls. Distribution of ammunition data cards,
inspection and test results, process controls shall be sent to:
6.9 Drawinqs. Drawings listed in Section 2 of this
specification under the heading U.S. Army Armament Research
Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), may also include -
drawings prepared by and identified as, U.S. Army Armament Research
and Development Command, Edgwood Arsenal, Frankford Arsenal, Rock
Island Arsenal or Picatinny Arsenal drawings. Technical data
originally prepared by there activities are now under cognizance of
ARDEC.
6.10 Submission of acceptance inspection equipment desiqns.
Deliverable data and inspection equipment designs required by this
specification shall be sent to: Commander, ARDEC, Picatinny
Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, ATTN: AMSMC-QAT-M (D). This address will
be specified on the Contract Data Requirements List, DD Form 1423 in
the Contract. Unless otherwise specified, data item DI-R-1714 will
apply.
