4.3 First article inspection. Unless otherwise specified, all
inspections shall be performed under the following conditions:

4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection
shall consist of the tests specified in table I. Measuring instruments
sufficient to verify drawing tolerances shall be used. The procedures used
for inspection are at the option of the contractor provided objective,
documented evidence is maintained and made available upon request by the
Government. Failure to meet the requirements specified herein shall be cause
for rejection of the handling bands.

4.5 Static overload test. The handling bands shall withstand a static
overload test of three times the safe working load (3 x SWL) for a period of 5
minutes for each test specified in table I. The Government reserves the right
to perform a static overload test to failure. Any handling band which fails
at a point less than the static design load (5 x SWL) shall be considered
unacceptable.
5.
PACKAGING
5.1 Packing. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase
order (see 6.2) , each handling band shall be preserved in accordance with MIL-
P-116, Method III and individually packed into a wood box conforming to PPP-B-
621, Class I, Style 4, Wade B.
5.2 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the
contract or order (see 6.2), the wood boxes shall be marked in accordance with
MIL-STD-129.
