3.5.1 Wiring and circuit safety devices.  Wiring and circuit safety
devices shall be in accordance with MIL-C-2212 and MIL-E-917.
3.5.2 Recirculating systems.  The recirculating system if required shall
be automatically de-energized when sonic system is energized.

3.6 Training and installation.  When specified (see 6.2.1), the services
of a factory-trained representative shall be provided to supervise installation
and train naval personnel at point of installation.  This training service shall
consist of necessary instructions in the proper operation and maintenance of the
cleaning system.
3.7 Electromagnetic interference control.  Unless otherwise specified
(see 6.2.1), the equipment acquired under this specification shall conform to
the requirements of MIL-STD-461.
3.8 Harmonic distortion.  Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2.1), the
equipment shall meet the requirements for harmonic distortion, in accordance
with MIL-E-16400.
3.9 Nameplate.  Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2.1), a corrosion-
resistant metal nameplate, permanently and legibly marked with the following

enclosure.

3.10 Reliability.  The equipment shall have a minimum mean-time-between-
failures (MTBF) of 5,000 hours (see 4.7).  A failure is defined as any mal-
function that either causes the loss of sonics, shuts off the unit, or causes
water leaks.
