2.2 Other publications. The following documents form a part of this
specification to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise indicated,
the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal
shall apply.

REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein and as specified on
the applicable drawings, lists, or specifications designated for the applicable
component. When materials are not specifically designated, those used shall
be of the highest commercial quality, and entirely suitable for the purpose
intended.
3.1.1 Dissimilar metals. Contact between dissimilar metals likely to
cause deterioration of parts by galvanic corrosion shall be avoided. Where
such contact cannot be avoided, joints or mating surfaces between dissimilar
metals shall be protected against galvanic corrosion by plating, coating,
insulation, gaskets or other suitable means.
3.2 Drawings. No deviations from the prescribed dimensions and tolerance
on the drawings forming a part of this specification are permissible without
prior approval of the contracting officer. Any data (such as shop drawings,
layouts, flow sheets and processing procedures) prepared by the contractor
(supplier) or obtained from a sub-contractor to support fabrication and
manufacture of the production item shall be made available, upon request,
for inspection by the contracting officer or his designated representative.
3.2.1 Figures. Unless otherwise specified, figures are for illustrative
purposes only. Dimensions indicated in figures are in inches. Figures are
not drawn to scale.
