Footnotes
1/ May be performed on cartridge.
2/ When the fuze turns with respect to the projectile body upon
application of the specified torque in a counterclockwise direction,
the cartridge shall be classed defective.
3/ MIL-STD-651 and Dwg. 7258801 shall apply in defining and
evaluating cartridge visual defects.
4/ Army design 7555162 shall be utilized for gaging cartridges
using M103 (Brass) case only. Cartridges utilizing the M103A1
(Steel) case shall be checked with a gage designed by the
contractor. A dead weight load of 60 pounds may be used to insert
the cartridge in the gage.
5/ Velocity and pressure readings shall be recorded in a single
test.
6/ Tests may be conducted using same sample cartridges.
