3.
REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Materials.  Materials shall be in accordance with the
applicable drawings, specifications and standards.

3.2 Components and assemblies.  The components and assemblies
shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (Dwg.)
9342677 and associated drawings and with all requirements specified
in applicable specifications and standards.
3.3 Free fall drop.  The loaded (5 inert mines) container
assembly shall show no evidence of broken, torn or loose parts which
render the assembly unusable, after being dropped from a height of
thirty-six (36) inches (in.) onto a one (1) in. minimum (min.) thick
steel plate.  Slight dents or crushing where the container assembly
contacted the impact surface will be acceptable, provided usability
of container is not affected.  The closure shall not separate from
container body.  Test shall be conducted at temperature extremes of
minus 25F 5F (minus 32C) and +125F 5F (+52C)
and ambient temperature following conditioning at same temperature
for four (4) hours minimum.
3.4 First article inspection.  This specification contains
technical provisions for first article inspection.  Requirements for
the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be
as specified in the contract.
3.5 Workmanship.  All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated,
assembled and finished in a thorough workmanlike manner.  All
manufacturing, processing, and assembly operations shall be
correctly performed.  All parts and assemblies shall be clean, free
from cuts, chips, dirt, grease, and other foreign matter which would
affect their serviceability.  All required markings shall be neat
and sharply defined.
4.
QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Responsibility for inspection .  Unless otherwise specified
herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply
and are hereby made a part of this detail specification.  Unless
otherwise specified in-the contract or purchase order, the
contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection
-
requirements as specified herein.  Except as otherwise specified in
the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or
any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection
requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the
Government.  The Government reserves the right to perform any of the
inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections
are-deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to
prescribed requirements.
