4.4.3 Testing. Testing is described in the First Article and
Quality Conformance Tables.
4.4.3.1 Check test for deterioration of primer, percussiont
M32. If the total elapsed time between original acceptance of the
M32= primer lot and the assembly of that lot into the ignition
cartridge exceeds two years, or if the M32 primers have been
subjected to adverse conditions for any period of time since
previous test, the M32 primer lot shall be subjected to and must
satisfactorily pass the check test for deterioration specified in
MIL-P-60316 immediately before the M32 primer lot is assembled
into the ignition cartridges.
4.4.3.2 Proving ground test (see 3.3). The cartridges shall
be observed for the following characteristics:
a.
Misfires, Major defect (see 3.3.1)
b.
premature burst, Critical defect (see 3.3.2)
Impact functioning, Major defect (see 3.3.3)
c.
Metal parts -separation, Special defect (see 3.3.4)
d.
Range precision, Major defect (see 3.3.5)
e.
f.
Short rounds, Critical defect (see 3.3.5.1.)
Testing shall be as specified in 4.5.1.
4.4.3.2.1 Initial Sampling. Beginning with the first article
and continuing until three consecutive lots have complied with the
acceptance criteria specified herein, eighty (80) random sample
cartridges shall be selected from each lot for this test. The lot
shall be rejected if:
Two or more misfires occur
a.
b.
Four or more improperly impact functioning occur
c.
One or more short rounds occur
d.
One or more premature burst occurs
e.
One or more metal parts separation occurs
f.
Horizontal range standard deviation at charge O or
charge 4 is exceeded
4.4.3.2.2 Production Sampling. After three consecutive lots
have complied with the criteria of 4.4.3.2.1, forty-eight random
sample cartridges shall be selected from each lot for this test.
The lot shall be rejected if:
