This specification is approved for use by all departments and Agencies of the
Department of Defense,
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope This specification covers 15-cfm 3,500-psi, power-driven,
portable air compressors.
1.2 Classifications.
Compressors shall be of the following types and classes,
as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Skid-mounted.
Type II- Wheel-mounted.
class 1
Gasline-engine-driven.
class 2
Electric-motor-driven.
Diesel-engine-driven.
Class 3
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1.1 Specifications. standards, and handbooks l The following
specifications, standards, and handbooks form a part of thisdocument to the
extent specified herein. Unless otherwise specified,the issues of these
documetns are those listed in the issue of the Department Defense Idex of
of
Specifications and Standards (DODISS) and supplement thereto, cited in the
solicitation (see 6.2).
