5.3.2 Level C. The complete crusher shall be prepared for shipment in a manner to assure
carrier acceptance and safe delivery to destination at lowest rating. The basic crusher shall be
prepared for mobile shipment. The toolbox lid shall be closed and secured to prevent pilferage.
When sufficient space is available, components and sections shall be placed and secured on the
crusher in any available space that will not interfere with lifting or mobility. Components and
sections that cannot be secured to the crusher shall be packed in crates complying with Uniform
Freight Classification rules or National Motor Freight Classification rules. Crated components
shall be shipped at the same time as the mobile basic crusher.
5.4 Depreservation guide. Two depreservation guides shall be prepared. One guide shall be
placed in a waterproof envelope marked "Depreservation Guide" and secured in a conspicuous
location on the crusher. The other guide shall be placed in the package with the technical
manuals and the package marked to indicate the depreservation guide is inside. Unless otherwise
specified (see 6.2), DA Form 2258 "Depreservation Guide for Vehicles and Equipment" shall be
used.
5.5 Marking. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The jaw crusher is intended for use as the primary rock-crushing unit in a
rock crushing and screening plant (75 TPH).
6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following:
(a) Title, number, and date of this specification.
(b) Time frame required for submission of the preproduction model (see 3.2).
(c) When an initial production crusher is required and number of crushers required for
initial production inspection (see 3.3).
(d) When 24-volt service lighting system is required.
(e) When jacks will be furnished by the Government (see 3.14.7).
(f) Color required (see 3.25).
(g) Technical publications required (see 3.27).
(h) Applicable list of repair parts and maintenance tools (see 3.28).
(i) Whether the crusher shall be tested as a unit or as a plant (see 4.6.3.1).
(j) Levels of preservation and packaging and levels of packing required (see 5.2
and 5.3). Level B preservation and packaging is intended.
(k) Time frame required for submission of the preproduction pack (see 5.1).
(l) Degree of preservation and packing required (see 5.2 and 5.3).
(m) When other than DA Form 2258 is to be used (see 5.4).
