4.6.1.1 Certification. The contractor shall insure that the components and materials used in
the trailer chassis are manufactured, examined, and tested in accordance with the requirements
and references specified herein. As a minimum, the contractor and his component sub-suppliers
shall be required to satisfy the criteria for the following:
a. In effect at actual time of manufacture:
1.
DOT FMVSS.
2.
DOT FMCSR.
3.
California Vehicle Code.
4.
DOL OSHA Standards and Regulations.
b. In effect at time of solicitation of bid:
1. Industry Standardization Document Compliance.
2. Comply with the performance requirements specified.
3. Meet the physical specifications specified.
4.6.2 Tests.
4.6.2.1 Test procedures. Prior to testing, lubricate the trailer chassis with lubricants as
specified in 3.18. Lubricants shall be those designated for use in the ambient temperature at
which the test is being performed. Before any road and off-road terrain tests are conducted,
measure longitudinal and diagonal points and critical mounting points on the trailer chassis.
After tests are completed, check the measurements of these points and visually inspect the trailer,
