4.5.2.13.3 Failure criteria.
Any one or more of the following shall consti-
tute failure of this test:
a.
Inability of the compressor to produce rated capacity.
b.
Inability of the compressor to operate for 200 hours without maintenance
other than normal scheduled maintenance.
Fuel tank capacity not as specified in 3.9.2.
c.
d.
Pressure regulation not as specified in 3.11.
e.
Air purity not as specified in 3.10.3.
f.
Air temperature at final filter inlet not as specified in 3.10.2.
4.5.2.14 Reliabilty.
Two compressor units shall be tested as follows:
4.5.2.14.1 Test conditions.
The operational and enviornmental test conditions
shall be as follows:
Without shelter and at the climate conditions existing at the place of
a.
test.
b.
With the compressor units serviced in accordance with 4.5.2.1.
c.
Shall operate at rated speed and capacity for not less than 1125 hours,
with not less than 500 hours on a single unit.
d.
Shall have capacity computations made on every 5th set of 4-hour data
readings as specified in 4.5.2.1.
4.5.2.14.2 Test data.
Test data shall be recorded as follows:
a.
Air capacity shall be calculated as specified in 4.5.2.1 along with
constant factors and data used to compute the capacity figure.
Air purity at the final filter in accordance with 4.5.2.10 recorded
b.
immediately before and after each filter change and at least once every
8 0.5 hours of compressor operation.
Down time data each time the compressor unit is stopped, to include:
c.
stop time and date; accumulated operating hours; restart time and date;
duration of down time in hours and minutes; reason for each stop; and the
amount of fuel and lubricants used.
The following shall be recorded every 4 +0.5 hours:
d.
(1)
Air temperature, ambient.
(2)
Air temperature at compressor inlet.
(3)
Air temperature at final filter outlet.
(4)
Delivery pressure.
(5)
Air purity at compressor outlet.
(6)
Air purity at final filter outlet.
4.5.2.14.3 Accept/reject criteria.  The compressor units shall complete 1125
hours with 3 or less failures and not less than 500 hours on a single unit. A
failure shall be as described in 4.5.2.14.4 and all failures shall be determined
by the Government.  Figure 1 O-C curve applies.
