6.2 Ordering data.
6.2.1 Acquisition documents. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification.
b. Type, class, and size required (see 1.2).
c. Time frame required for submission of first article model and number of compressors
to be furnished (see 3.2).
d. When the Government will conduct any or all of the first article examination and
tests. When the Government will conduct some but not all of the first article
examination and tests, the contracting officer should specify which examination and
tests will be conducted by the Government and which examination and tests shall be
conducted by the contractor (see 3.2 and 3.3).
e. When winterized first article examination and testing is required and number of
compressors to be furnished (see 3.3).
f. Length of air hose to be furnished if other than as specified (see 3.9).
g. When electromagnetic interference requirements other than as specified in 3.11 are
required.
h. Color required (see 3.16).
i. When camouflage data will be provided (see 3.16.1 and 6.2.2).
j. When commercial engines are to be used for size 5 and 15 cfm compressors,
(see 3.17 and 3.26).
k. When Government-furnished property is provided (see 3.17).
l. When Government-loaned property other than as specified in 3.18 is required.
m. Capacity of air receiver tank if other than as specified (see 3.21.1).
n. Air-receiver-tank fittings required if other than as specified (see 3.21.1, 3.22.1, and
3.24.5).
o. When winterized class 4, size 15-cfm compressors are required (see 3.25).
p. When winterized class 4, size 15-cfm compressors will be serviced prior to shipment
(see 3.25.11).
q. When sizes 15-cfm and 25-cfm compressors will be furnished with a clutch
(see 3.26.7).
r. Level of preservation and packing required (see 5.1 and 5.2).
s. Any special marking (see 5.3).
6.2.2 Data requirements. When this specification is used for an acquisition which
incorporates a DD Form 1423, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), the data requirements
identified below shall be developed as specified by an approved Data Item description
(DD Form 1664) and delivered in accordance with the approved CDRL incorporated into the
contract. When the provisions of DoD FAR Supplement, Part 27, Sub-Part 27.410-6 are invoked
and the DD Form 1423 is not used, the data specified below shall be delivered by the contractor
in accordance with the contract or purchase order requirements. Deliverable data required by
this specification is cited in the following paragraphs.
